1.10.10 -- Genesis 15

Genesis 15

Skipping ahead here with SOAP (again, if you want to follow along you can find the schedule here).

Gen 15:6 ~ Justification has always been by faith alone.  Abraham's righteousness was "accounted to him" because he believed.  As such he became the father of a great nation, God's chosen people!

Gen 15:19 ~ Israel is still around while all the others on this list are gone.  Speaks mightily for God's covenants!

  1. James Chapter 2, says:

" What does it profit [ Anyone ], my bretheren, if someone says he has faith [ A Worthless Profession Of Belief ] but does not works [ Which Are Commensurate To It ]? Can faith [ Alone ] save him?

If a brother or sister is naked [ Without Necessary Warm Clothing ] and destitute of daily food [ And Without The Nutrition To Properly Sustain Him ],

and one of you [ Worthless Believers ] says to them, ' Depart in peace, be warmed and be filled [ As If Mere Words Mean Anything ], ' but you [ Selfish Human Beings ] do not give them the things which are needed for the body [ To Factually Warm And Feed Them ], What does it profit [ Then, How Does That Help Anyone ]?

Thus also [ As In This Very Simple Example ], faith by itself - if it does not have works [ The Fruits Of His Indwelling Spirit ] - is dead [ And Doesn't Have Any Value At All To Yahweh ].

But [ Invariably ] someone will say [ Out Of Their Own Spiritual Ignorance ]: ' You have faith, and I have works [ Shall We Not Be Judged Together ]. '

Show me your faith without your works [ That Which Is Worthless To Yahweh ], And I will show you my faith by my works [ Then Yahweh Can Judge Between Us ].

You [ Spiritually Ignorant Ones ] believe that is one God. You do well [ Since This Is Factually True ]. Even The Demons [ Reserved In Chains For The Judgment ] believe [ As You Do ] and tremble [ In Fear At His Name ]!" - James 2:14-19.

Faith without works is, at its best: " Foolish Presumption ", and, at its worst: " Utter Licentiousness".
